Bertier creates custom and bespoke footwear and leather goods, including recrafted footwear using authentic third-party donor products.
All products are individually made to order. Product images are illustrative and may differ from the finished piece due to natural materials, handmade production, screen settings and material availability.
Information and pricing displayed on the website are indicative only and do not constitute a final quotation or guarantee of availability. A confirmed quotation and agreed commission specification will take precedence.
Each commission is discussed and agreed with the client before production begins.
The final design, materials, specifications, price, payment terms and estimated production period will be confirmed in writing.
Production will commence once the required deposit has been received.
Because commissions are individually made, changes or cancellations after production has commenced may not be possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Certain Bertier services involve modifying or recrafting an existing third-party product (“donor product”).
Donor products must be authentic and suitable for the proposed work. Where a donor product is supplied by the client, the client is responsible for confirming its ownership and authenticity.
Bertier is not responsible for pre-existing defects, damage or characteristics of a donor product, except where otherwise required by law.
Bertier is an independent customisation and recraft studio and does not represent that it is affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by or endorsed by any manufacturer whose products may be used in a commission.
Custom commissions are individually priced according to the design, materials and requirements of the project.
Indicative pricing on the website is not a quotation. The final price and payment schedule will be confirmed in writing before production.
The required deposit must be paid before production begins. Any remaining balance must be settled in accordance with the agreed payment terms.
Production generally takes approximately 6–8 weeks from receipt of the required deposit, although lead times may vary according to the complexity of the commission, material availability and production capacity.
Estimated production and delivery dates are not guarantees unless expressly agreed in writing.
Bertier ships internationally. Delivery charges, import duties, customs charges and taxes may vary according to destination and will be communicated where applicable.
Unless otherwise agreed, the client is responsible for applicable destination-country duties, taxes and customs charges.
Natural leather and other materials may vary in colour, grain, texture, markings and finish. These variations are inherent to natural materials and are not necessarily defects.
Minor variations resulting from handmade production are part of the character of a Bertier piece.
Clients are responsible for following the care instructions supplied with their products. Bertier is not responsible for damage resulting from misuse, neglect, inappropriate care, normal wear and tear, accidental damage, unauthorised alteration or third-party repair.
As Bertier products are custom-made and personalised, they generally cannot be returned or cancelled simply because a client has changed their mind, subject to any statutory cancellation rights that may apply.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable law.
Where a product is defective or otherwise qualifies for a statutory remedy, Bertier will provide the remedy required by law.
Any concern regarding a product should be reported to Bertier as soon as reasonably practicable, together with photographs or other information reasonably required to assess the issue.
All Bertier website content, including text, photography, graphics, logos and original designs, is owned by or licensed to Bertier unless otherwise stated and may not be reproduced or commercially used without prior written permission.
Third-party trademarks, brand names, product names, logos and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
References to third-party products or brands are made only where necessary to identify or describe products, silhouettes or materials relevant to Bertier's independent services.
Bertier is not affiliated with or endorsed by any third-party brand unless expressly stated.
